SUBCONSCIOUS MIND - Human Nature as we know it.
In May of this year, I found myself grappling with a profound realisation: I thought I had lost my understanding of the subconscious mind and its significance in our spiritual journey.
Within many Christian circles, alternative therapies, such as hypnosis and timeline therapy, are often met with skepticism and ridicule. However, I believe it’s essential to look beyond these misconceptions and explore the depth of our inner lives.
To truly understand our beliefs, thoughts, and emotional patterns, we cannot rely solely on our conscious mind; the subconscious plays a crucial role in shaping our experiences, often holding beliefs that may not align with the truth. As alluded to throughout Scripture, human nature reflects our subconscious experiences, revealing our innermost struggles and desires.
Scripture encourages us to examine and discern our inner thoughts, guiding us toward greater clarity.
In this blog post, I hope to illustrate how therapeutic practices that engage with the subconscious can be instrumental not only in overcoming trauma and releasing suppressed emotions but also in attuning ourselves to the gentle whispers of the Spirit within.
Before diving in, I invite you to watch this enlightening documentary on the subconscious mind to lay the foundation for our exploration.
In the sacred scriptures, the notion of the soul is deeply intertwined with the concept of the "spirit within." It is portrayed as the essence of our being, the very breath of life breathed into us by the Divine.
Moreover, biblical teachings suggest that our experiences are largely shaped by the subconscious, hidden beneath the surface of conscious awareness.
Scripture speaks of the heart as the wellspring of life, the seat of our emotions, thoughts, and intentions. Within its depths, the subconscious resides, influencing our actions and perceptions in ways often beyond our conscious understanding.
Yet, amidst the veils of the subconscious, lies a profound truth illuminated by biblical wisdom: living with intention allows us to discern the workings of the soul. Through prayerful guidance and spiritual discernment, we become more attuned to the subtle whispers of the Spirit, navigating the depths of our being with clarity and purpose.
“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual” 1 Cor 2:12-13
Intentionality, when rooted in faith and aligned with God's will, becomes a beacon of light in the darkness of the subconscious.
It enables us to uncover the hidden treasures within, unveiling the mysteries of the soul as we journey closer to our Creator. As we walk in faith and obedience, our intuition becomes sharpened by the Spirit, guiding us along the path of righteousness. We begin to recognise the divine patterns woven into the fabric of our lives, discerning God's handiwork in every experience and encounter. In this sacred dance between intention and intuition, we draw closer to the heart of God, embracing His wisdom and guidance as we journey through the depths of the soul. Through prayer, meditation, and spiritual discipline,
we cultivate a heightened consciousness—an awareness that transcends the limitations of the conscious mind, and allows us to perceive the eternal truths hidden within.
So, let us embark on this spiritual pilgrimage with steadfast faith and unwavering devotion, trusting in the Divine guidance that leads us to the depths of our souls. For in the sacred scriptures and the whispers of the Spirit, we find the keys to unlocking the true essence of who we are and the boundless potential that lies within us.
